IT Security Incident Responder
The primary role of the IT Security Operations Team is to help the business by protecting the company’s computer and networking systems from potential (cyber) threats. They safeguard sensitive data of the company from breach, exfiltration, loss and ransomware attacks.
Primary duties and responsibilities:
- Take ownership of security support requests and incidents, ensuring they are resolved and ensure customers are communicated to at all times
- follow the IT Security Incident Response Plan in order to take immediate action, mitigate threats to the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the organization’s information assets.
- Accurate and timely escalate problems to specialist support teams
- Maintain and update security documentation and standard operating procedures.
- Understanding of network protocols and security principles.
- Continuous monitoring of systems and networks to identify suspicious activity
- Execution of penetration tests in collaboration with security analysts to identify vulnerabilities
Requirements:
- Understanding of network protocols and security principles.
- A degree in Computer Science, IT, Systems Engineering or related qualification.
- 2 years of working experience with IT security incident detection, incident response, and forensics, or equivalent
- Willing to work in shifts
- Knowledge of major networking components, networking operating systems, and basic configuration and maintenance
- Knowledge of Active Directory and Exchange environment is an asset
- Motivation, discipline, well-structured and flexibility are your key characteristics
